Food & Fitness:
Obviously food and counting calories is going very well! I did DDR last night too. I stuck to my plan of getting home, letting the dogs out, changing and just doing it!
Woot Woot
It doesn't even feel like I play for that long. When I saw the duration I was shocked. I just play my favorite songs and maybe repeat a couple that I love and then when I look down I am pleasantly surprised! The only problem with DDR is that it makes the arthritis in my right foot act up and I've had to take my pills for that since I started playing again. I'm hoping as I lose weight the pain will ease up. That is a lot of weight slamming down on my poor knees/feet.
Today's Menu:
B: Oatmeal cooked in 1 c. almond milk with 1 T almond butter and a banana. Coffee with peppermint mocha creamer
S: String Cheese, carrot sticks
L: Minestrone soup, low fat cottage cheese, WW mini bar
S: Multigrain tortilla chips & salsa
D: Baked Potato stuffed with black beans, salsa and roasted garlic
Activity: DDR or my Biggest Loser Power Walk DVD
I might switch it up tonight because of my foot. Either way, I'm excited to work out.
Yesterday my apartment complex posted on Facebook that the fitness center was absolutely packed the last two days. Wonder why? :) I'm going to avoid going over there until about February or March. Or, unless I absolutely have to because I can't run outside once I start training for my half marathon (which I signed up for yesterday!!!). It will be my third time running this one and my fourth half!

Lincoln Presidential Half 2013:
Unfortunately my mom cannot run it with me this year. That makes me really sad. I have done all of my half marathons with her. She is the best running buddy and even when I'm ready to throw in the towel she cheers me on and gets me to keep going. The 2013 half was hard for both of us. She was having trouble with her hip and was scheduled for foot surgery and I was having trouble with... welll.... being overweight and having my feet hurt so bad from the arthritis.
Mom also did the Disney Princess Half Marathon with me in 2012 and that was by far one of the best experiences of my life. I am so glad I got to share that with her. It was overwhelmingly amazing and it was emotionally and physcially rewarding since it was our first half. I just went through and read the blog post (that is linked above) and it made me feel everything all over again.
FYI... best race medal EVER
I hope that someday mom and I can do half marathons together again. It won't be the same without her by my side.
