To all Springfield, IL and surrounding area residents. THE ROADS ARE STILL SHITTY FROM THE STORM ON SUNDAY. IF YOU DRIVE LIKE A FUCKING MORON I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR YOU IF YOU END UP IN A DITCH. YOU LIVE IN THE MIDWEST. IT SNOWS EVERY YEAR. LEARN TO DRIVE.

End Rant.
Anyway, as you can tell I am tired of dealing with stupid morons on my morning and evening commute to work. I actually watched some idiot in a huge pick up truck think he was invincible of the road conditions and end up in a ditch with a look on his face of "Well crap. Why did that happen?" Oh, I don't know... maybe because you drive a rear-wheel drive vehicle with no sandbags in the back and you were driving like a complete MORON. Have fun in the ditch and paying for a tow service to get you out. You are what is wrong with this world.
Ok... I guess that was the official end rant right there. Sorry about that.

Half Marathon Training:
It is hard to tell from that picture, but yesterday I went into iCloud from my computer and updated my calendar to reflect the Hal Higdon Half Marathon training plan on the app I have. All of my workouts are scheduled and set up with alerts so I know what to do every day. It starts on 1/12/14 and it will end the day of my half! This will be half marathon number four and I am so excited! It will be my third time running this one and I want to set a PR! I am so determined to not be one of the last people like I have been previous years. I want to finish with others since my mom cannot run with me. I am also hoping that Anna will be able to do it with me so that I have a buddy and do not have to do it alone. I think half marathons are just more fun when someone is with you.... and I cannot convince my husband to run anything farther than a 5K.
Since I have done this half before I know that there are some crazy hills I need to be prepared for and that I need to make sure that I run in the right shoes. After three half marathons you'd think I would have this part down right? No. Every time I end up hating the shoes I wore and wished I would have worn something else... it also doesn't help that I NEED new running shoes.... it just really isn't in the budget right now. I want to talk to Andrew about going to the Springfield Running Center and getting a pair on clearance. That is my favorite way to buy shoes!
I'm nervous about starting this training plan but excited. When you commit to something like this you really have to have your priorities set. This comes before anything else for me. That is going to be hard to keep in mind after a couple of weeks in. Especially if something like this happens:
Random Friend: "Hey Becky, let's go out for a beer after work."
Me: "Sorry, I have a nine mile run I have to do."
Random Friend: "Beer"
Me: "I'm in."
I just have to focus on the goal! The free beer after the run Finishing the race and setting a PR.

Food & Other Things:Yesterday was good.... until I got home had every intention of working out and then couldn't get the Apple TV to sync up to the computer so I could do said workout. Then I got frustrated. I reset the Apple TV and with help from Andrew got it to sync. Then, the damn workout kept stopping part way through. At this point I was so frustrated I shut it down, started Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and ate white rice until I was ready to explode.
Out.Of.Control.
I could have easily done another workout. I could have easily set up DDR instead. Nope. Threw in the towel and ate delicious sugary, refined carbs. Om nom nom.
Today's Menu:
B: Boca burger on an english muffin, strawberries, coffee w/peppermint mocha creamer
S: Strawberry greek yogurt
L: Salad in a jar: lettuce, red bell pepper, carrots, sunflower seeds, homemade dressing, 100 calorie pack of cookies
S: Carrots with roasted red pepper hummus
D: Tilapia, sweet potato, cauliflower
Activity: I dunno.
I'm pumped about starting my half training so exercise right now seems kind of boring. With four animals terrorizing our place I could just resign myself to cleaning every night until this weekend....
